About Must love tea!

Our Philosophy

There are as many different kinds of tea as there are opinions about tea. You could try a new tea every day for years, looking for your new favorite cup. You'll find some you like, but maybe you'll find some you could pass on, too. Other people can offer their suggestions, too, but what matters is what you like.

And so was born Must love tea!. We compare the tea you like (and dislike) against all our other users' to figure out the best tea for your specific tastes.

If we help you discover one new tea that you love and will drink again, we've done our job. (Why don't you let us know about it?)

About Us

Steve: Growing up in Portland, Oregon, I've been lucky to watch the tea shops dotting the city grow as the city's tea culture grows. First among these, and forever my favorite, is the Tao of Tea. I still remember my first visit! It was quiet, a little spooky, and the drink they served me (Silver Needle, in a tiny cup) was a treat for all senses. Wisps of steam rose in the crisp Portland air from deep amber liquid. The scent was already distracting. With my first tentative sip I was hooked. This was tea! This was the good stuff! Time passes, and I've sampled teas on four continents. Sencha in a quiet Japanese tearoom in the middle of New York City, unnamed green tea in a Silk Road chaikhana, and just about every tea shop in the bay area.

Finding something new to try, that's no problem. But I've had some good tea, and I've had some that's not so good. In helping build this site, it's my hope that tea-lovers everywhere (including me!) can find the good stuff, and we can all share in the joy of exploration.

I'm proud of what we've put together, and I hope you'll give it a try. I've already found some great new beverages, and I think you will too.
